Obama or McCain?

We take our patriotic duty very seriously at the Tannen Weekly.

So we feel obliged to give you our unique point of view on who we're endorsing in the election next week.

We judged the two presidential candidates by one criterion: Who would be more interesting to write about?

(We're following a time-honored approach here. You know how it goes: Which candidate would be better for the farmers? The Jews? The oil business? The gays? The Bronx?)

To be honest, I'm bored with writing columns about conservative Republicans. It's like shooting fish in a barrel (or wolves from a helicopter, so to speak).

Really. They keep doing the same things over and over again – giving tax breaks to the rich with the promise that prosperity will somehow "trickle down" to the rest of us; hiring their unqualified cronies to run serious government departments; posturing morally and then being caught with their pants down in motels, hotels, and airport restrooms, etc.

Their lack of creativity and imagination is stupefying. And so I think it's time for a satirical change.

For that reason, the entire Editorial Board of The Tannen Weekly unanimously endorses Barack Obama for President of the United States.
